Internet down

baca : Taiwan Gempa, Internet Indonesia Sekarat (src: detik.com)

“Rumah baru”

Pindahan lagi, dan untuk yang kedua kalinya. Alasannya mungkin agak janggal : kesederhanaan..dalam pandangan aku yah.

Masih belum banyak modifikasi yang dilakukan, still learning.

Hope i can stay longer in “New Home” :)

Enjoy!

Importing My Blogger to WordPress

So i’ve decided to move my blog to WordPress (WP) in order to have simplicity. Weird? You can call that.

This is my second time for blog movement or changing blog. My first blog is in Friendster named Mela No Hibi. I stopped maintained it since I wasn’t satisfied with its features. I changed my blog to Blogger and using previous name as my blog title Mela No Hibi. A year had passed, and some sort of thoughts came that this blog had became too complicated (well, at least for me). I need something simple which I have seen it in WP. So I’ve decided to change blog into WP.

There’s import feature in WP that can import your posts and comments from Blogger. I’ve tried this feature once …however since I’ve migrated to Blogger Beta back then, this feature can’t be used. Have done some googling with no result how to import your posts and comments from Blogger Beta to WP. Other than Blogger, you can import posts and comments from TypePad. Then I realize I can import my posts and comments from my Friendster Blog. I’ve tried and it works!! Great!! Then got an idea to import from Blogger to some kind of TypePad file. Found this page Import Content from your Blogger Weblog and with a little edit here and there and also with help from Blogger Help, I can import my Blogger blog to WP.

Here’s how I did that: I followed the instruction in this page Import Content from your Blogger Weblog but only for the step 1. For the template, I’ve done some modification so it’ll become like this :

<Blogger>
AUTHOR: <$BlogItemAuthor$>
DATE: <$BlogItemDateTime$>
TITLE: <PostSubject><$BlogItemSubject$></PostSubject>
PRIMARY CATEGORY:
STATUS: Publish
ALLOW COMMENTS: 1
ALLOW PINGS: 1
CONVERT BREAKS: 0
-----
BODY:
<$BlogItemBody$>
<BlogItemCommentsEnabled>
<BlogItemComments>
-----
COMMENT:
AUTHOR:<$BlogCommentAuthor$>
EMAIL:
URL:
DATE: <$BlogCommentDateTime$>
<$BlogCommentBody$>
</BlogItemComments>
-----
</BlogItemCommentsEnabled>
--------
</blogger>

For the file named (as mentioned in no.14 for step 1), I used import.htm. I don’t know whether it has an effect or not, but just for incase. Then login to WP. Go to Admin page. Click Manage and choose Import. Choose Movable Type and TypePad and then upload import.htm. I saw my Blogger posts and comments listed in post lists. It worked!!

I don’t know if there’s already simple way to import new Blogger to WP. Niwey, hope this story would be usefull.
